The End
The Seagate is fucked. But it’s still under warranty, so I can get a free replacement (Seagate’s process for that is awesome). All I’m losing is some TV shows; they won’t be easy to replace (all torrented, of course, but it took a long time to find some of the British shows), but at least it’s not family photos from ten years ago or anything.
The Maxtor actually seems to be working again. The problem seems to have been corruption somewhere, but after ejecting it and then plugging it back in, all the data seems to have returned. I have absolutely no faith in it now though, so I’m copying everything off to an unused hard drive Heather had lying around (a nice reliable Seagate, thankfully) before it explodes again.
Happy ending, you guys! (Thanks for the suggestions.)
have faith those uk shows will be on rs or some better bt sites i r sure of it ♥

THIS GUY, right here, let me tell you. Kudos. Leaving Google for Twitter. Best move, ever? I think so. Design wise, very nice.
Part 2 of 2 (here’s part 1)
Yesterday was my first…
The BBQ’r, by Invisible Engine. As a writer, I have some problems with the structure of this sketch. I think there’s too much exposition up top - it takes too long before it hits the “game,” or pattern of the joke. Then the script wavers back and forth for a while, never quite settling on a specific angle, or escalating the central theme in a way that’s surprising or interesting. By page 4, the writer is essentially repeating himself - a classic example of overwriting a premise. Yes, this one could use a few rewrites.
I think we can all learn a lot from the mistakes made here. Other writers, please feel free to reblog and add your own critical notes to this self-indulgent, meandering disaster.
har. har. har.
